On completion of my website design and development training in Jan 2002 I spent 3 years focusing on the hands-on creation of websites for a rich mix of clients based both in the UK and in continental Europe.
Since late 2005 I have worked exclusively on the user focused aspects of website production as an information architect / user experience consultant, developing expertise in user experience design and user centred design methodologies.
I generally use Microsoft Visio to produce documentation such as sitemaps and wireframes, although am also comfortable using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
I have significant experience of the search engine optimisation of web sites as well as a good understanding of accessibility best practice.
I've worked on the enhancement of content management system (CMS) templates as well as the design of a UGC focused site falling fairely and squarely within the realm of Web 2.0.
I am proficient in many of the key web design and development languages and programs including HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop and Flash, with practical experience of Javascript, ASP, ASP.NET, MS SQL Server, MS Access, and AJAX.
